Review:
Another outstanding performance from Guy Hale - Jimmy and The Second chance just
keep on coming and I am delighted that I get to come along for the ride.
There is less of Wendy in this book but she is a presence that I hope we will see again. John R Deal is a new force that has stepped in to guide and bring the love along. His mystic ways will keep you guessing as to his true intentions.
I love the way that Guy Hale builds his characters. Through this and the previous book in the trilogy we see them evolve. This time we’ve almost seen a softer side to Jack Lantern (almost) but maybe that’s just an appearance next to his sweet Ma whom we have met for the first time. Ma really is a character and it sure explains a lot about Jack.
Jimmy is still the star as far as I am concerned - he has a charm and wit about him that I simply love. That said Kid has really grown on me. In the first book I wasn’t sure about him - I didn’t know his intentions and I lacked trust / but now I feel he’s got Jimmy’s back and that makes him ok with me.
There’s a lot of loose ends in this book making it a perfect side step in to book 3 and I can’t wait to start the read!
