The Lottery Win

Review:

Romantic comedy laced with the gritty side of reality - Once again Rosie Green has managed to fit a whole lot in to a short story.

There is plenty going on for the characters in this book - yet it doesn’t feel crowded or overwhelming. They story weaves itself easily.

One of Rosie’s many talents in my eyes is her ability to write about difficult situations that real people might find themselves in, and do it with grace and compassion. The Lottery Win is no exception. While we follow poor Krystal on a journey to find Mr Right we are also drawn into the world of loan sharks and trust issues.

Krystal is a likeable character, who although maybe a little naive at first soon learns from her mistakes. Doug is an interesting character - written so well that you have your doubts about him from the start - but will he be another Ryan or not? And where are things going with Adam? Both of these questions will have you reading on - not wanting to put the book down.

I always find Rosie’s books so easy to read - they flow so easily and the pages just keep turning. If you are looking for a holiday read, while you relax and unwind then The Little Duck Pond Cafe series is a must.

The Lottery Win, Little Duck Pond Cafe

Krystle has always yearned to live a different kind of life, so when she hits the jackpot, quite literally, she's over the moon. At last she'll get the chance to live in a gorgeous house, drive the car of her dreams and maybe even track down that elusive soulmate at last! It all sounds perfect – but can reality ever live up to your dreams?
