Review:

We all have secrets - but how far would you go to keep them and protect your loved ones?

This is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Unsure what will happen next and where the lies will take the characters. The main character’s lie intertwines with those of other family in a way that is subtle and hidden from the other. This adds a greater depth to the story.

I liked the references to real life issues such as the postal scandal where post office masters were wrongly accused of fraud. It added a credibility to the story of the main character and a sense of urgency to her situation. If the innocent could get caught what might happen to her?

The main character Rhada was likeable and easy to relate to. There were times where you felt she had brought things on herself but mostly you felt her desperation and the easiness of falling down such a rabbit hole. There were also times when you felt sorry for her. That if her family had told the truth maybe none of this would have happened. Her father was a different character at first I was not keen I found him over bearing and interfering- but as the story unfolded I saw him as a desperate parent who would do anything to try and protect his daughter.

The narrator was excellent- the book was read with clarity and expression - each character having their own unique twist on tone and expression. It was so easy to listen to - a real pleasure.
