Review:
Mia and Gran are on an adventure to find that something blue that has blown off the line.
This is a really fun book! Who doesn’t love adventures in boats, on scooters and hot air balloons? Even better when they involve a big pair of your Granny’s knickers!
Little bookworm loved the different things that the something blue became. Her favourite page was the last one (but we won’t spoil it for you - you’ll just have to read the book to find out why!)
Each new page was a talking point and we both laughed to see Granny’s knickers used for so many things.
I can see this book being very well used in an early years setting. Something Blue really is a story of imagination. The wonder of early years is that children can find so many uses for everyday things and books like this inspire that freedom of play and help children to develop.
I love the aesthetic of this book as well. The illustrations are beautiful - the colours are really bright and a vivid, making them stand out. I could definitely see them coming to life as a cartoon. (They would also make brilliant prints in a nursery or playroom).
I hope to see more adventures from Gran and Mia in the future !

Blurb:
Gran and Mia are in pursuit of something blue which has blown off the washing line. Gran’s big blue pants are used as a flag, a kite and even a bed for sea horses as the plucky duo follow the knickers to the coast and beyond before bringing the pants home in a hot air balloon. “Pants can be more than just pants” Who knew?
