The Trial
By S R Masters
Review:
A gripping psychological thriller that will keep you awake until you’ve read it all.
Elle is desperate to get out from the grip of her mother. A woman who spends her life lying and cheating to get what she wants at the expense of everyone else.
After her mother scams her out of her holiday fund Elle finds an advert for a clinical trial on a holiday island. Could it be too good to be true?
Elle starts of as someone you feel sorry for. She comes across are rather weak willed, struggling to stand up for herself. Holiday Elle is a different sort of person. Once she gets to know some of the others on the trial Elle soon discovers that maybe she has a future to look forward to. That is until things on the trial take a turn for the worse. By the end of the book Elle has developed into a much more complex character. Multi layered and not easy to predict. I enjoyed the develop of her character.
A series of disasters threaten to ruin not only the trial but the very foundations of their beings.
How far would you go to save yourself and the one you love? And will Elle have to test that limit for herself.
This is definitely a book to add to your TBR pile this summer.
