Lucas Twigg’s Truly Terrible Luck

 Lucas Twigg’s Truly Terrible Luck

By Andy Rigden and Jim Landen

Review:

Little bookworm (age 5) was delighted when this book arrived. She couldn’t wait to read it and she wasn’t alone.

The cover grabbed my attention instantly- the bold background and large graphics really do stand out on the shelf pulling you in. And then there’s the title - because let’s be honest - we all like to hear about other peoples bad luck at one point or another - it’s intriguing!

Bless Lucas, he really does have terrible luck. Told through flowing rhyme that moves with rhythm and pace. Poor Lucas finds himself rained on, pooed on and in a hole. But what will happen when his mum steps in to lend him some of his dad’s good luck? Surely there’s nothing in the superstition of lucky pants?

Come and find out just how unlucky Lucas is and what will happen when he tries to turn things around.

Both adults and children will laugh out loud - I know we did in our house. Never mind little bookworm Lucas Twigg’s Terrible Luck is definitely one of my best funny picture books of the year.

Blurb:

Lucas seems to be the world’s unluckiest kid. He gets splashed on the way to school every time it rains. Birds are queuing up to poop on his head. And he narrowly avoids being crushed by a falling meteor. But all that changes when his Mum lends him his Dad’s lucky football pants. Another fantastic tale from the Author and Illustrator team behind My Mum’s a Bug-eyed Monster!
