Review:

This is such a wonderful book and a novel idea. We’ve all thought ‘What’s the point of the white crayon?’ Well in this book you will find out just how magical it is.

Waxley wants to draw like all the other crayons and when he finally gets picked he thinks his dreams are coming true at last. Things don’t quite go to plan though.

This wonderful book teachers children the importance of being you and how each and everyone of us has a special talent (we might just need to look beyond the surface). It is also a beautiful introduction to wonderful art techniques.

I can not wait to use this book in nursery (my own little bookworm loved it). For fans of The Day the Crayons Quit - this is another great book and in my opinion much more accessible to younger children.

A joy to read and a must for bedtimes.

Blurb:

Waxley isn’t like the other crayons. Still neatly wrapped and perfectly pointed, Waxley has never … ever drawn before!

Every day, he watches as the other crayons are picked to draw exciting pictures. When will Waxley get his chance?

Determined to prove he can draw incredible things, Waxley ventures out of the crayon box one night but with some very unexpected consequences.

A heart-warming story for young children about how you don’t need to be like everyone else and it is actually your differences that make you special.

Author Bio:

Rachel is a lawyer and first-time children’s picture book author. Writing her own children’s picture book was always on her bucket list and throughout lockdown her first book, The Crayon Who Couldn’t Draw started to become a reality. She’s so proud to finally be able to point to the book on the shelf at home and tell her children, “Mummy wrote that”. Rachel loves eating out, exercise and travel. She also loves to spend time at home in London with her husband and two children.
